Golden Star Chinese & American Restaurant

I really liked this place. I took my boyfriend to lunch after a long week. We ordered a combo meal for 2. We had so much food we had leftovers (yummmm) I spent 52 for 2.Our waitress was super!We will definitely be back!

Love this place! Definitely recommend the dinner deals, a good combo of food for not a bad price at ALL compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area! Love the fried tofu (pictured). Egg flower soup is meh, has celery and water chestnuts in it that throws me off but everything else we've had from here is excellent! Large servings too so you will have plenty of leftovers! (Uploaded photos of the menu, this is the most up to date one in 2024) Also - THEY ARE CLOSED TUESDAY'S!

Literally the best shrimp chow mein with canton noodles I have ever eaten!!! I like them very spicy and the chef made them to perfection. Our server was very nice and the restaurant was clean.

Golden Star! Well let me tell you about Golden Star. I was more than a little skeptical when my Wife decided we were going here for lunch. It's very unassuming on the outside, but once we stepped in we were greeted warmly and shown to a cute little private booth. My Wife decided on Tofu and I had Sweet and Sour chicken with chow mein. Our food came out in a hurry and everything was delicious! I'm not even a fan of chow mein and ordered it to share with my wife but it was the best I ever had! We will definitely be back!

Ok, I'm old and I just don't care what anyone thinks of my food preferences. I grew up on old fashioned Chinese food. Not that new age Asian fusion stuff that comes in a fancy low light noir decorative room. Puh-leeze. Give me the fake ceramic good luck pottery, a pond with goldfish, preferably under a bridge, bright overhead lights because the building has no windows. Make sure there are booths, and the whole place is full of seniors having supper at 4pm before moving to the sleezy bar out back to drink before the party crowd shows up. Fill the menu with combo meals for your whole family, or individual meals that include all the basics. Ala carte dinners that come with enough food to feed your family for a week. All the soups. Sticky sauces, fake sweet and sour that comes in neon orange colors not found in nature. I crave this stuff. How hard is it to find good, tender BBQ pork that comes with the hottest mustard this side of Death Valley? Almond chicken in gravy with actual almonds? And nirvana in my mouth - Almond Chicken SUBGUM Chow Mein with Crunchy Noodles. Melt in your mouth egg rolls. Superb crab puffs, that had only a hint of crab, but the cream cheese was to die for. I live an hour from the place, and my entire order was to go. I waited about 20 minutes for it to be ready, and got home in just under an hour. We ate about 2 hours later. There were so many containers, I lost my subgum and called to complain. Had to call back and retract when I found it. Sorry! This entire meal was probably the best I've had in 30 years, when I was part of the party crowd who met everyone for dinner, then hit the sleezy bar out back for the local hard rock cover band. I have found my favorite restaurant after enjoying my over abundant purchase for 3 days.

They have good portions of food for the price. We got the garlic chicken wings and fried tofu for our appetizers. I ordered the beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice from the lunch menu. Will definitely check out the cashew chicken and sweet and sour pork per recommendation next time.

We always go to golden star . I can remember when I was A teenager and we would go there. The only thing I miss is the sweet-and-sour spareribs. I wish they would put that back on the menu. Other than that they are great friendly big portions of food. Great drinks., we have dined in and taken out lunch and dinner

Been coming here over 40 years. The fried wonton chips, almond chicken, and sweet and sour pork are amazing! Always, hot, fresh, and on point.
